THE SILVERBACK NETWORK (#SbNet)
Introduction
The Silverback Network grew out of the existing Certificate and Diploma programmes in Security Management. Participants who had completed the programmes and moved on to undertake the final year of a bachelor’s degree were eager not to lose touch. At the same time, colleagues who had contributed to the programmes also expressed interest in further contacts and opportunities to come together to share knowledge and experience in an informal yet focused manner. It was a natural and inevitable next step to form the Network.
Network Events
Initially, the Silverback Network will get together four times in the period from October 2020 – August 2021. Network events will run on the Friday afternoons of residential workshops at Missenden Abbey from 1730 – 1900 hrs followed by dinner. Current Silverback participants on both the Certificate and Diploma programmes will be joined by members of previous cohorts, along with contributors and interested colleagues from within the industry.
Each event will include a contribution by recognised experts and entrepreneurs designed to encourage active participation, discussion and networking opportunities which will then continue over dinner.
Costs
Attendees are asked to pay for their dinner (£22 + VAT); contributors will be exempted from these costs.
The Silverback Ethos
The Silverback philosophy emphasises collaboration, the creation of productive relationships and the generation of original insights and understandings in the pursuit of professionalising the security and related industries.
We don’t claim to have the solutions, but we do claim expertise in creating the conditions in which individuals and groups can engage in the process of generating useful approaches and answers.
